Part 3 – Season of Change – Song of Solomon

Song of Solomon 2:8-13

Ah, I hear my lover coming! He is leaping over the mountains, bounding over the hills.

9 My lover is like a swift gazelle or a young stag, Look; there he is behind the wall, looking through the window, peering into the room.10 My lover said to me, “Rise up, my darling!Come away with me, my fair one! 11 Look, the winter is past, and the rains are over and gone. 12 The flowers are springing up, the season of singing birds has come, and the cooing of turtledoves fills the air. 13 The fig trees are forming young fruit, and the fragrant grapevines are blossoming. Rise up, my darling! Come away with me, my fair one!”

Ok we are on the second part of verse11 “and the rains are over and gone”.

So what does that mean to us?  Well remember we just went through the“winter” season – where this can be a time of bareness…what does a fruit tree need to survive?  Water –

“At the Westbury Community Garden, there is a team that has a watering schedule for the fruit tree orchard. They watered twice a week during the drought, and each time let a lot of water soak in. A slow running hose left for 10 minutes allows water to soak deep down where the roots are. The trees in the orchard show no signs of damage from the drought, and in fact look really good, and the fruit from the year old figs was exceptional.”

We are called to bear spiritual fruit – in doing so, we need to be watered.  What is the water – being in a season that we soak in Gods presence –waiting, listening and being lead by the Holy Spirit?

It’s a season that births new life and natures attributes of God that may have been in a season of “drought” – Not being uses or recognized.  As we move in this season – we need to posture our self before the Cross in worship – out of this – we stir our self up to be in His will and purpose to faction in the call and mandate that was birthed in us as we were in the womb.

It states – and the rains have come and gone – did you see the word “rains”?  Meaning more then one encounter – I think this is interesting and we do not want to miss it.  Stay in this season of soaking until you know that you know it is time to move on.  Do not under estimate the potential of being in His presence soaking in the movement of His spirit.  Do not rush any season – even though we would like to get out of the “winter”.

May the Lord rain upon those that are in this season – May you feel His refreshing presence that sparks a desire for new adventures in Christ!  We need the Holy Spirit to penetrate deep in the soil of our Heart to bring freedom that is so needed.
