Love over Gifting will sustain the Move of God…
There is a lot of chatter in the church today about a move of God so many of us are beginning to experience. I just want to share a few thoughts on how we will be able to sustain this move and see it truly transform our societies.
One point I would like to make is – When God moves, His intentions are not to move a city for a moment of time – i.e. a month, year or even five years. The heart of the Father is to move a society from lack of provision to being nourished spiritually. This next wave of “revival” that we are hearing about should not be a moment in time, but a birthing of transformation that will change the history of that city for a life time.
God doesn't just want to have visitation with us, but He wants habitation...It’s not enough to have an encounter, but a transformation from within that lays down everything so we can pick up the anointing that produces the supernatural...
So how do we prepare our land and the people to sustain this great awakening that we so desperately need?
1. Learn to love each other. We are called to love – Love has to be the foundation for this movement. The foundation has to be deep enough and wide enough to sustain this transformation.
a. Who are we to love? It is easy to extend love to those in your own home church. Because you gather under a common agreement of doctrine. This must change. We need to look past our doctrinal stance and focus on the heart of God. We have core values, they are not negotiable, but we must come to a place of love and maturity to look past the silliness that has created denominational walls.
b. John 15:12 “This is My commandment: that you love one another [just] as I have loved you.”
The meaning of love in this passage is – Indicates a direction of will. To find joy in anything. To befriend. To find joy, we must look past ideas, agendas and disagreements.
c. John 15:13 – “No one has greater love [no one has shown stronger affection] than to lay down (give up) his own life for his friends.” This love is given not because man wants it, but because man needs it!
2. Love will be the driving force to keep this transformation alive within our cities. It will take a group effort to see the fullness of transition. We must learn to sow love because man needs it, not because man wants it. When we give love out of need, it feeds the spirit of a man. But if we give love out of want, then we are just petting the flesh and not creating a true or healthy relationship.
3. Learn to love yourself – We need to become confident in who God has created us to be. When we can love ourselves, then we can offer authentic love to those around us. This is a major key in transforming a city. As you learn to love yourself, you do not second guess your position as the beloved.
Love is what we need to run after, express and cultivate within the streets of our cities. It is time to move beyond loving each other with in the four walls of our local church to reaching out to the ends of our land.
I want to say – it will not be enough to have vision or passion to keep a city alive if there are not authentic relationships being established. It must be clear; transformation should not be upon one man’s shoulders. The Lord may release revelation to certain men or women, lets gather around them to see this supernatural transformation birthed!
Transformation can come without hurting individuals, homes or even churches when we learn how to honor the men and women in that season that the Lord has given favor. The question is whose kingdom are you trying to build? If we are seeking to see His kingdom here, we would want to lay down our agenda and stand around them and support them in any way we can.
The one danger we need to be open to is, that the man or woman being favor learns that, yes you may have the vision, but God is into team work. It’s not even enough to gather a team unless those on the team function without being bias.
A true supernatural movement is when love promotes the gifts of God. When the two collide, we will see transformation. If love stays our first focus – we will stay in the order of God!
These are just a few thoughts - I could go on, and I will revisit this subject because we need transformation and wisdom to sustain it!
